FEATHER FROST is the final story that takes place in the THE DRYAD'S CEDE collection, and can be read as a standalone novel. The events occur some five years after Eliza's adventures in KINDLED EMBERS.
The design that made it onto the front cover of the book is from the Seasons' Wheel - a children's rhyme about the seasons. The snowflake at its centre eludes to the ominous legendary Ice Maiden, inspired by the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen.
