Prep: 5min | Cooking: 40min
Complexity: 1/5
ingredients:
(serves 4)
750g ground beef
2 onions, chopped
2 carrots, diced
200g peas
1/4 cup red wine
1/2 cup vegetable stock
salt, pepper, olive oil
4 large potatoes, diced
1/4 cup milk
25g butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp garlic granules
1 tsp ground paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
method:
Heat oven at 200°C.
In a frying pan, fry the beef on high heat. Once browned, add the carrots and onions, and reduce heat to medium. Fry until the onions soften, ca. 5min.
Meanwhile, boil the potatoes 15-20 min. Drain and set aside.
Add the garlic cloves to the beef, and extinguish with the wine. Then add the peas and stock. Season with the cayenne, paprika, thyme, oregano, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Mash the potatoes, adding the milk, butter, garlic powder and season to taste with salt.
(* Use a fork to draw lines over the top of the flattened mash.)
Pour beef mix into an oven dish, then spoon the mash on top. Bake, covered, 30min. Remove cover and bake another 5-10min.
